 - Analog Adapter

The TantaComm Analog Adapter is a companion unit to the Auditor card and provides either 24 or 48 analog inputs which are converted to a PCM data stream that the Auditor can compress and record. The Analog Adapter is contained in a 1U format and actually contains two independent 24 line systems. This unit is designed for contact center recording applications where the only available or practical call recording source may be a single line extension, analog trunk (POTS), radio channel, output from a proprietary telset digital to analog converter or any line level audio source.

The standard hardware features of the Analog Adapter provide an extremely versatile and robust product interface for quality analog recording. These include:

1. Extensive telco grade surge protection on each input. Permits direct attachment to any standard telco pair.
2. Built in self test which is invoked on boot-up and may be initiated remotely via the Auditor platform.
3. A built in tone generator which permits remote testing at each input port while the board is in operation.
4. Remote diagnostics and status indicators.
5. Ring detect on each input.
6. Line voltage detection of off-hook condition.
7. Digital AGC for improved recording intelligibility.
8. Digital VOX for voice energy detection and triggering.
9. High impedance (>30K ohm) minimizes loading on recorded circuit.
10. Ethernet connection to Auditor card permits remote operation of Analog Adapter to 600 feet.
11. Auditor GUI permits remote administration and monitoring of Analog Adapter.

The high density of the Auditor and Analog Adapter result in a small physical footprint and very compact contact center recording system. When coupled with the high compression of the Auditor, 4.8 kilobits per second, even a system with a relatively small disk storage of 160 gigabytes has a capacity of 64,000 channel hours. Up to four Analog Adapters can be supported by a single Auditor card, and up to six Auditors can operate in a single server, for a total system capacity of 480 ports. Since Auditors can simultaneously support T1 ports and Analog Adapters, systems with mixed analog and digital T1 sources can share the same recording server and user DartServer API.

When used with TantaComm's Auditor platform, the Analog Adapter provides additional flexibility for call center monitoring of agent performance and agent quality management.
